Info Sharing Challenge
Four-hundred people, nine departments, one info-sharing ordeal. Philadelphia's City Law Department faced a procedural headache (phone calls, forms, faxes, snail-mail) each time staff needed access to another departments files. Employees needed timely and easy access to information organization-wide while still retaining departmental independence.

Acumen Simplifies Communication, Improves Functionality After a detailed analysis, The Acumen Group developed a customized online system that cut through the old impediments. The City's sluggish inter-departmental communications system was replaced with a Client/Server relational database with an integrated web portal to the city's Intranet.

The setup gives each department independent functionality as well as secure access to cases, data, etc. Groups have the ability to access information even if it overlaps into another department's jurisdiction. In addition, the system also manages case loads, financial information, and the allocation of human resources.

Access and Independence Coexist
Frustrating process is streamlined - Philadelphia's nine city law departments can now access any data organization-wide, as needed, without the loss of departmental autonomy.
